RFID Printer and Encoder
The retail RFID system identifies items by a unique SKU-encoded computer chip and RFID aerial embedded within a traditional swing tag. The tags are produced in-store using the FE Technologies Printer and Encoder. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an electronic tagging technology that allows stock to be identified at a distance without a direct line of sight. This is achieved using invisible radio waves. RFID operates differently to barcodes, which must be individually scanned in order to obtain the required information. Without the need for a direct line-of-sight, RFID is capable of reading multiple items at once. This means a typical retail boutique can scan its entire stock within minutes. The retail RFID system uses UPM Raflatac EPC Class 1 Gen 2 tags that operate at a global frequency of 860-960 MHz, making them perfect for retail apparel settings. |
