Patrons want quick, easy checkout, and immediate access to their account status. The FE Technologies Self Loan station does just this – it’s designed to provide libraries with 100% self check-out by offering patrons an attractive, easy to use, intuitive self loan station.

The Self Loan Station makes borrowing items a delight for patrons of all ages, literacy levels and ethnicities. The height of the touchscreen and table complies with AS1428.2 standard for disability access, and the large touchscreen features simple to understand animations and diagrams.
Patrons can check-out up to five items at a time. When the items are placed on the platform, they are instantly “read” and displayed as a list showing title, asset number, due date and status.
The FE Technologies DVD Integrated Unlocking Device is an optional feature of the Self Loan Station. The system uses OneTime™ DVD cases that protect both the DVD item as well as the RFID tag; by protecting the RFID from potential theft libraries can have the confidence to leave all DVD items on the shelves in locked boxes. An intuitive animation instructs patrons to unlock their DVD items prior to checkout, and the DVD unlocker itself lights up to indicate the correct workflow making the process virtually error-free.
The look and feel of the Self Loan Stations is customisable via external inserts in the headboard and table top, and the work flows, language translations and the look and feel of the touchscreen is also customisable via the Management Console. The unit itself can be standalone, desk-mounted or wall mounted. FE Technologies even supplies customised children’s Self Loan Stations in fun animal themes, like the Emperor Penguin, below.
