Circulation Assistant

The FE Technologies Circulation Assistant converts an existing library terminal into a RFID enabled terminal for circulation functions. The RFID pad is used as a reading device and connects directly into the LMS.  Library staff will be able to process returns and issues at a much faster rate, as the Circulation Assistant can process five items at a time.

  • Simple to use

It overlays a small screen over the LMS screen and toggling between issues and returns is automatic. 

  • Accurate

The synchronisation of the Circulation Assistant is done via patented software that identifies whether the LMS screen is in issues or returns and switches accordingly – this means the security status is always set correctly making it the most accurate product on the market. 

  • Multiple item processing

The Circulation Assistant replaces the barcode filler to transfer the item number to the field on the LMS screen. The Circulation Assistant can process up to 5 items at a time, drastically speeding up circulation office functions.

  • Exceptions are dealt with

The Circulation Assistant monitors all pop-up screen that alert the operator when there is an exception (eg. on hold or item to be weeded etc).  When the pop-up screen appears the circulation assistant waits until the exception is dealt with by the librarian prior to populating the information for the next item. This feature is unique to FE Technologies and is covered by a patent.
