| Automatic Sorter at Gungahlin |
The 9-bin Sorter, one of the largest in Australia, was installed at the new Gungahlin branch of ACT Libraries, and is a great achievement for both FE Technologies and Libraries ACT.
The Sorter allows patrons to return items from both an internal and an external patron return unit with a touch screen, and sends the books along a roller and belt transport system, including down a whole floor via a book lift, and sorts each item into one of 9 bins according to its status. The Sorter requires no staff intervention and gives the library massive gains in productivity from day one. The installation cements FE Technologies' position as one of Australasia's leading suppliers, installers and maintainers of Automatic Sorting Solutions and provides a showcase for the product in a busy public library context.

In May 2011, FE Technologies completed the installation of an Automatic Sorter for Libraries ACT. The new Gungahlin branch was chosen for the site and work commenced on the sorter installation in conjunction with the building construction. The Automatic Sorter is one of the largest in Australia with an impressive 9 bin sorting capacity, and incorporates a book lift, corner tracks, and two Patron Return Units.
